HANTEN — Presence — 01
Before mastery, there is repetition. Before refinement, there is presence.
HANTEN is derived from the traditional jacket worn by craftsmen and shopkeepers — individuals devoted to their work through consistency, attention, and care. It was not worn for display, but for doing.
The form is direct and functional. Shorter in length, open in structure, it allows for immediate movement and responsiveness. It does not contain the body — it supports it in action.
Where stillness prepares, presence engages.
The garment carries a quiet weight — not physical, but intentional. It frames the body without restricting it, allowing the wearer to move between tasks with clarity and steadiness.
Repurposed for modern life, HANTEN becomes a uniform for focused action. Not performance. Not decoration. Practice expressed outward.
Presence is not force. It is attention held within action.

Care
These garments are made from natural materials and are designed to evolve with use. Care should be taken with the same awareness as wearing.
Washing — cold water (30°C / 86°F or below), gentle cycle or hand wash, mild detergent only, wash with similar colours.
Drying — do not tumble dry; hang in a well-ventilated, shaded space; let the garment return to form naturally.
Ironing — low heat if needed; steam preferred to restore natural drape.
Storage — cool, dry space; hang or fold with care; avoid prolonged compression.
